I decided to go back to my roots and highlight an app that I am using every week and share some insight into it.
Starting this week with the IFTTT app, which is more of a web service, but the integration of the phone gives you a bunch more options. You might also note that I made mention to IFTTT in this post a few weeks ago.
The idea behind IFTTT (If This ThenThat) is super simple. If something on one of your web based services meets a simple criterion then it triggers the “then that” part of the recipe. (IFTTT calls each of your formulas a recipe.)
For example: (Personal Recipe #4724366)
IF there is a tornado warning posted by the National Weather Service THEN Call my cell phone.
It is so extremely simple and easy to use. There are millions of ways that you could use it and the list of options gets larger every week. It has the ability to connect to smart devices like the the Dash OBD2 car diagnostic app, the Netatmo weather station, smart bulbs, YOU NAME IT and this app can do it.
