After watching a documentary on Netflix about the life and death of Kurt Cobain a moment of the film stuck with me. It was an ex crew member (or something) that put the idea in my head that “Smells Like Teen Spirit” was a copy of Boston’s “More Than a Feeling”. A while later I stumbled across this video and it solidified the idea.
Kurt Cobain was even questioned about it and had this to say, “was such a clichéd riff. It was so close to a Boston riff or [The Kingsmen’s] ‘Louie Louie.”
