Wizard of Oz Fact #123: Glinda's Pink Bubble
Billie Burke, who played Glinda the Good Witch, made her famous entrance in a pink bubble. Creating the bubble effect required innovative practical effects for the time, and Burke had to be carefully placed inside a mechanical sphere that descended from above the stage.
