Although it appears to be made of bricks, the Yellow Brick Road was actually constructed from long sheets of painted Masonite. The glossy surface helped the road reflect studio lighting, giving it a magical glow on camera. Over time, the paint began to crack under the actors’ feet, requiring frequent touch‑ups between takes.
