The hot air balloon used in the Wizard’s departure scene was built to function like a real balloon, complete with a wicker basket and burner system. Although it never fully lifted off during filming, the practical design allowed for realistic movement and interaction. The balloon’s whimsical appearance helped reinforce the Wizard’s showman personality.
