Each pair of ruby slippers was covered in thousands of hand‑sewn sequins that caught the light beautifully on camera. The shoes also featured a red‑glass bead bow to enhance their sparkle. Their craftsmanship was so detailed that even today, conservators must handle them with extreme care to prevent the delicate materials from deteriorating.
